Up to date information about the world’s languages is of interest to historians, linguists, literacy workers, academic
researchers, businesses and governments. It is also of strategic importance to mission communities and
non-governmental organizations (NGO). For instance, Wycliffe Bible Translators uses this information to help plan new
projects and assign personnel. Many other mission agencies and NGOs likewise use the information at
ethnologue.com to guide their strategic planning.

Leveraging technology to help
translate God's Word into heart languages!
Chad and Becky joined Wycliffe Bible Translators (WBT) in 1999. Following our training, we served in the Eurasia Area
and worked with the languages of Indonesia and Malaysia. Chad has worked with SIL's Ethnologue since 2012 when he was
brought into the project to learn the software and system processes of the Ethnologue and assist with the redesign
and programming of the website. Ethnologue.com handles about 1.5 million users each year and serves almost 6 million pages.
